To purchase the game, simply go to the Android Market on your device and search for Fruit Ninja. Alternatively, you can use this online barcode with a scanning application:

The update is excellent. Seems to run a little bit smoother for me, multitouch is finally present and of course arcade mode is spectacularly fun.
My concern, and the concern of many others I’m sure, was not with the length of time it was taking to get the update but the fact that Halfbrick absolutely refused to discuss it. No blog posts explaining the wait, no ETA, nothing. All you did was ignore us while we were left to speculate wildly as to what was going on. No responses to comments here, no responses to tweets, nothing as the angry comments piled up on the Android Market reviews.
While I’m extremely happy to receive such a great update to a game I already enjoyed a whole lot, I’m not necessarily convinced that similar problems won’t happen in the future. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase one of your products on iOS because you’ve shown time after time that you produce quality games there and support the hell out of ‘em. However, this Fruit Ninja on Android situation has left me nervous about Raskulls still. Have you guys committed as firmly to XBLA as you have to iOS?
Honestly, your fans are a lot more understanding than you might think. It’s okay to say, “Listen, we’re having problems with (fill in the blank), no ETA on when the Android version will be done” or something along those lines. Really! We know these things don’t materialize overnight, but when you refuse to communicate with us, your fans, your customers, we’re going to have to draw our own conclusions. So I’m asking, as a fan who’s very happy with you guys at the moment, can you promise to at least talk to us in the future? Please?
I cannot disagree with NLD.. a quick tweet or State of the Android address every once and again would be really rather righteous. In that vein, do ya’ll happen to have anything to report on the prospect of an imminent Monster Dash port? I forsee myself purchasing it at least 20 times, just to ensure that every Android-equipped friend of mine has an opportunity to bask in its glory.
Love arcade mode and multitouch, but the update seems to have made the graphics blurry on my MyTouch 4G. Any way to fix this?
I, for one, am dissapointed with the update. After jealously watching iPhone equipped friends using arcade mode, finally receiving Arcade mode should have been satisfying. When I played it after installing the update however, I noticed that the graphics quality had taken a hit (though it did slightly improve performance), and ALL of the words that didn’t surround a swipeable option (Dojo, New Game, etc) became little multi-colored blocks. I can’t see scores, blade/wall descriptions, or anything else. What a letdown. I tried both uninstalling/reinstalling and soft reset, but to no avail on my HTC Hero. What a letdown. Any suggestions?

love love
I am also disappointed with the update. I waited SOOOOOOOOOO long since the release of fruit ninja on android for the arcade mode.
All of my friends (literally, all…) are using iphone and are great fans of fruit ninja. I am also a great fan of halfbrick and fruit ninja. In fact, I was little hesitant to buy an android phone just because of fruit ninja (yeah I know, Im that into it
).
That being said, I must say I am disappointed with the recent update. Yeah, we have our arcade mode and multitouch but the quality was WAY BELOW MY EXPECTATION.
Whenever I play fruit ninja on android and with my friends on an iphone, I feel disgraced because the quality of the game is so much different even though, we payed the same amount.
So my point is, please give android users more attention and address the issue if necessary. I really think we should get the same service, update and quality as ios version of fruit ninja. I know ios is an awesome operating system but I think that if you guys took little more care to android like you do to IOS, I have no doubt that fruit ninja will dominate android os!
I can’t install this update on my nexus one with android 2.2.2, it just gives an error -18
Any ideas?
Is there an online version of fruit ninja? I don’t own an iphone or stuff like that, but I play on my friends phones and I got addicted!
They don’t even have the decency to update their YouTube videos announcing their games area also in the Android Marketplace.
If you want Halfbrick’s full support, i think the answer is obvious: get an iPhone.
what is the arcade high score?
Regarding the hit in graphics quality… I personally hadn’t noticed it until reading about it here. Perhaps it’s more of an issue with certain phones? The textures look fine on my Moto Droid, and the game is indeed performing better. I’m getting the highest scores I’ve ever had in all modes, and if it comes at a hit to the graphical quality I’m okay with that. The Hero isn’t a particularly powerful phone, nor is mine, so I think any kind of effort to boost the game’s smoothness on Halfbrick’s part was probably a good move.
The reality of the situation is that Android runs on an extremely wide variety of devices, going as far back as the G1. Part of the problem with porting 3D and otherwise hardware-intensive games is this fact: not all of these phones are created equally. With iOS the number of factors that can change are quite limited. With Android, we’re talking a huge number of screen sizes and resolutions, a huge number of different processors, and so on and so forth. For that reason alone it can never be EXACTLY 1:1 with iOS because iOS development avoids a lot of that work.
I think Halfbrick has done a good job with the current update. Sure, we still don’t have EVERYTHING, but the meat of this update was arcade mode and it’s loads of fun as I hoped it would be. Multitouch certainly doesn’t hurt either.
you should just focus on iOS games
Seems to use the same seed for the randomizer every time.
If you start the game, and play arcade mode, take notice of the sequence of fruits.
Quit the game and start it again, and the sequence will be exactly the same, every time.
