A short note regarding a certain “Halfbrick announcement” about Web3

In breaking news today, our regular enjoyment of making awesome games was interrupted by an announcement circulating the internet that Halfbrick has raised $20 million in angel funding to start a Web3-something called *checks notes* - “MetaHomo”.

On hearing the news, we asked around and none of us could recall ever having sought - much less raised - $20 million for *check notes again* “a virtual digital economic game simulation platform” (phew!).  

To put it another way – that story is a fabrication, nor are we working with the businesses who were also mentioned alongside Halfbrick. Web3 (and whatever that other stuff is!) is not in our priorities or plans. 

In the real world, we are working on lots of genuinely cool things for 2024! Here’s a quick sneak peek at some of the highlights ahead:  

• Continuing to roll out Halfbrick+  - our awesome mobile game subscription service for premium games! It’s live with a catalogue of twenty classic games, and we’ll be releasing regular drops of classics and new titles from our own studio and curated third party developers. Nice!
  
• We’re developing multiplayer titles for Halfbrick+ to give players the ability to quickly and easily get into super-fun real-time or turn-based multiplayer games with friends and family. Get ready to rumble!
  
• This month we released the reimagined spatial redesigns of two of our iconic classics – Super Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride 2 - as launch titles for Apple Vision Pro – and we’ll be rolling out updates for these amazing experiences!

… and SO. MUCH. MORE!  

So get ready for a wild ride in 2024 with (actually) Halfbrick!
