Brisbane - October 8, 2025 - Jetpack Joyride Racing, a new real-time multiplayer kart racer from Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride creator Halfbrick Studios, launches on November 13, 2025 for iOS and Android. Set in the Jetpack Joyride universe, it lets Barry Steakfries and other Halfbrick characters trade jetpacks for jet-powered karts in a fresh new expansion of the world fans know and love. The launch also debuts Halfbrick+ Cards in the updated Halfbrick+ Hub app, alongside the first Halfbrick+ Season Pass. Players earn card packs through Jetpack Joyride Racing and open them in the Hub app to unlock cosmetics and rewards tied to the new pass, with shared progression coming to additional Halfbrick+ games in future updates.
Gameplay
Jetpack Joyride Racing is a competitive, real-time multiplayer racer where up to six players go head-to-head in fast, chaotic matches. Players can jump straight into matchmaking or create private lobbies to race with friends through Halfbrick+, with Discord voice chat built in for easy communication.
Instead of relying on straight-line speed, mastering momentum is everything. Each kart is powered by twin jet engines that are always active, and players accelerate by angling their jets close to the track’s walls to generate forward thrust. By keeping their karts near the edges, close enough for the jets to blast off the surface without scraping it, racers build speed and carry momentum through corners. The faster and cleaner the wall runs, the more velocity you maintain, rewarding precision, timing, and rhythm.
Throughout each track, tactical zones add another layer of strategy. Charge Zones refill the boost meter, Cutout Zones temporarily shut down the engines, and Slow Zones sap momentum. With six players battling for position, staying just ahead can be as important as outright speed. Smart racers know when to boost, block, or use another player’s push to their advantage.
The roster features Barry Steakfries and Professor Brains from Jetpack Joyride, Dan and Josie from Dan the Man, and other fan-favorite Halfbrick characters. Karts can be customized with cosmetics unlocked through the Halfbrick+ Cards system, giving every racer a chance to build a unique loadout and stand out on the track. Those customization options are fueled by the Halfbrick+ Season Pass, a progression track packed with card packs and other rewards.
Halfbrick+ Cards and Season Pass
As players race, they earn experience that increases their Season Pass level. Each new level grants rewards from the pass’s free or premium tracks, including card packs of different rarities filled with new Halfbrick+ Cards to collect. Packs are opened in the Halfbrick+ Hub app, where players expand their card collections and discover new ways to customize their racers.
Cards unlock cosmetics such as characters, karts, visual effects, and reaction emoji, letting players shape a personal look that stands out on the track. The debut Halfbrick+ Season Pass is themed around Jetpack Joyride Racing, with future seasons expected to spotlight other Halfbrick+ games and events as the platform grows.
At launch, Halfbrick+ Cards and the Halfbrick+ Season Pass are fully integrated with Jetpack Joyride Racing, with shared progression across additional Halfbrick+ titles planned for future updates.
Connected Play with Discord
Built around the Discord Social SDK, Jetpack Joyride Racing joins Halfbrick Sports: Football in making social play a core part of the Halfbrick+ experience. Players can jump into private lobbies, invite their Halfbrick+ friends, and stay connected through built-in Discord voice chat. This integration extends beyond this game. It’s part of Halfbrick’s ongoing effort to make every Halfbrick+ title feel linked through shared systems, friends lists, and seamless communication.
Behind the Scenes Mini-Series
Alongside today’s announcement, Halfbrick has released a trailer for a new three-episode video mini-series following Jetpack Joyride Racing project lead Adam Wood. A lifelong kart-racing enthusiast and active member of the Ipswich Kart Club in Queensland, Wood brings real racing experience to the project. Episodes will debut in the weeks leading up to launch. The series explores the creation of Jetpack Joyride Racing, how that passion shaped its momentum-driven design, and what it means to the team.
